The story I
am about to relate is real. Every word is true. I know, because it
happened to me!
It
was in 1990, yet I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at home with
my wife. I was not on any drugs or alcohol at the time and I am not as I
share this account with you. This really happened.
The night was
fairly normal, I went to bed as usual and fell asleep. I had a dream or
perhaps a nightmare would be a better term. I dreamed that I died and
somehow was in this dark, dim, place. There was this long hallway which
looked like an underground tunnel or passageway. I heard a voice speak
to me, calling me by name. The voice said, "George, I've got you now!" I
immediately turned to see who had said the words and it appeared to be
just an ordinary man.
However, there
was something strange and scary in his eyes! I had never seen eyes like
that before and when I looked into his eyes I was frightened and began
to run. I knew it was Satan. I ran as fast as I could run, but no matter
how I ran he stayed right behind me and spoke again, "George, I've got
you now." I felt I ran for miles and suddenly I ran into a wall and
fell. I turned to look behind me and he was gone & I thought.
I HEARD PEOPLE
SCREAMING AND HOLLERING, AND CURSING
As I was
getting up off the ground I realized I was in front of some huge doors
or gates and as they swung open I heard people screaming and hollering
and cursing, etc. However, I could not see anyone, I could only hear
their agonizing, bone chilling cries. There was a fire that engulfed the
place like the sky does the earth. As the doors came fully open I heard
laughter behind me. I wheeled around to see and it was Satan, he said,
"I finally got you now." I can't describe the fear that I felt. I did
not know God then. I had only heard people talk about him as I was
growing up.
In my dream, I fell to my
knees and cried out to God. I asked Him to save me and help me. Right as
I said this prayer I woke up. My heart was about to pound out of my
chest, I was sweating and had chest pains. My wife wanted to take me to
the hospital. I assured her I was ok. I sat down with her and told her
about the dream. She said, "George, I tried to wake you up. You were
hollering and moving around, but I couldn't get you to wake up."
GOD USED IT TO
CAUSE ME TO 'WAKE UP'
Needless to
say, this really got my attention. I felt God was calling me to
repentance and I called on Jesus as my Savior. Even though the nightmare
may have been from demons, God used it to cause me to "wake up" to the
reality of hell and because of it my soul is saved today. Hell is real.
Read the story of the rich man and poor Lazarus in Luke 16:1-31. This
account is related by Jesus Himself. It is not a dream. Jesus warns
repeatedly about the reality and danger of eternal hell.
Jesus also tells us
that hell was not created for man, but for the devil and his angels. Man
must make a choice to go to hell. He must choose NOT to repent and
receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Sadly, millions have made that choice. I
encourage you to give serious thought about that matter now. Death is
not IF, but WHEN? Eternity is not IF but WHERE?
Read carefully
some of what God has told us about this
place called hell.
"Then said the
king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and
cast him into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of
teeth." Matthew 22:13.
"And cast ye the
unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth." Matthew 25:30
"And the devil
that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where
the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and
night forever and ever." Revelation 20:10
IT'S YOUR
DECISION
If you want to be saved
you can and you can be at this moment, right now, if you will: Confess
to God that you are a sinner. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for
you and that He rose from the dead and lives today. If you will repent
of your sin and ask Him to be your personal Savior, He will!
Here is a
prayer you can pray to be saved:
"God, I am a
sinner and I need to be saved. I believe Your Son Jesus died for me. I
believe He shed His Sinless, Spotless Blood for me and I believe He
lives today. Come into my heart Jesus and save me. I need You and I turn
from my sin unto You. Thank You for saving me. Make something of my life
in Jesus Name, Amen."
